Meet the Candidates: Here is a brief bio on each of our candidates.
Kerri Mertz—Kerri has been employed with Corn Belt Power Cooperative for 5 years as an Executive Assistant. Kerri and her husband Jim, who also works for Corn Belt as a Foreman Substation Electrician, have two sons Thad (20) and Zack (17). In her free time, she enjoys reading, shooting sports, is involved in the Humboldt Co. Extension Board, Coach for Two Rivers Jr. Pistol Team, and blood donor. Kerri is excited to be a part of the board of directors to help shape the future of the credit union.
Pam Conlon—Pam is a current member of our board and is wanting to serve again. Pam has been employed by the Humboldt Middle School as a secretary for 30 years. Pam and Roger have two grown children, Nate and Terrin. Nate and his wife Amy have 9 yr. old twin boys, Breckin and Hayden and a son Landon who is 4, they live in Humboldt. Her daughter Terrin, and husband Mark Kist, reside in Waverly and they have two children, McCoy who is 2 and their daughter, Dallas is 3 months. Pam and her husband Roger enjoy traveling on their motorcycle and spending time with their grandchildren. When time allows Pam likes to make crafts and do machine embroidery.
Lee Smith— Lee says that Humboldt is fortunate to have a credit union with wonderful employees. He would like to serve on the board of directors to help that continue. He is in his 16th year as a small business owner being the local State Farm Agent. Lee’s family consists of his wife, Missy, who is a speech pathologist, son Gabe who is a student at Iowa State, and daughter Grace, a senior at Humboldt High School. Lee enjoys his work, spending time with his family, and hopes to become a better fisherman at some point. Lee is a proud Iowa State Cyclone graduate and fan.
